Here's how it starts...

ITALY SEEN FROM A TRAIN
When I say I don't drive, they look at me as if I confessed to be illiterate. I travel by bus, on foot. When I go by train, I take paper and a pen. Sometimes I furtively draw portraits of my travelling companions. Sometimes I write, short notes to help me to remember what I see. I won't paint it, though: if it's too similar to nature, I think it's not personal enough. There is also to watch and to sketch what runs outside the window. The journey is in the route.
Every departure is like a new love. Same energy. Same high spirits. And it doesn't matter if the train goes through a dry unkempt field. Even the shortest journey and the sloppiest landscape are an adventure.
