Carla DellaBeffa

I live and work in Milano and in Paris. After art college and a brilliant career on the creative side of advertising I decided to become first a painter and later a video and new media artist.
In 2007 I launched in Paris a cultural and inter-disciplinary project about French author and scientist François Rabelais and his hero Gargantua. In this artistic and pedagogic project, twelve-years old children and their teachers followed a series of lessons and lectures and visited museums in order to be able to understand, read and play two chapters of the 16th century text, somewhat actualised, but always respecting the basic rules of ancient phonetics and the author's humour. I made a video, two documentaries and a book out of the experience.
The passion for ancient French made me also fall in love and make a video following a tale by Charles Perrault, Le Petit Chaperon Rouge (Wolf-dating).
